william basinski is an american composer, clarinetist, saxophonist, and sound and video artist. (thanks, wikipedia!) he's made some awesome ambient albums, consisting mostly of tape loops and short wave radio experimentation. the disintegration loops are great albums, for instance. so, here's eastern threat's william basinski appreciation episode, with excerpts from the aforementioned disintegration loops, el camino real, melancholia, the river, variations for piano and tape, and others.
